Directed by Rob Reiner and written by Nora Ephron, this 1989 romantic comedy is a modern classic that poses the question: "Can men and women ever just be friends?" The film follows Harry Burns (Billy Crystal) and Sally Albright (Meg Ryan) through a series of chance encounters over twelve years, chronicling their journey from mutual dislike to close friendship and, eventually, to love. The film is celebrated for its witty, relatable dialogue, its charming performances, and its honest exploration of the complexities of modern relationships.

Interesting Tidbit: The film's most iconic scene, where Sally fakes an orgasm in a crowded deli to prove a point to Harry, was not in the original script. The idea came from Meg Ryan during rehearsals. The famous punchline that follows, "I'll have what she's having," was suggested by Billy Crystal and was delivered by director Rob Reiner's own mother, Estelle Reiner. The scene was filmed at Katz's Delicatessen in New York City, and to this day, a sign hangs above the table where they sat that reads, "Where Harry met Sally... hope you have what she had!"
