What's Eating Gilbert Grape, directed by Lasse Hallström, is a drama set in a small, stagnant Midwestern town. Gilbert Grape (Johnny Depp) shoulders the responsibility of caring for his morbidly obese mother and his intellectually disabled younger brother, Arnie (Leonardo DiCaprio).
