The Devil's Advocate, directed by Taylor Hackford, is a supernatural horror-thriller about Kevin Lomax (Keanu Reeves), a gifted young defense attorney from Florida who is recruited by a powerful and enigmatic New York City law firm headed by the charismatic John Milton (Al Pacino). As Kevin becomes seduced by the wealth, power, and success offered by Milton, he begins to realize that his new mentor may be far more sinister than he appears, possibly even the Devil himself.
Did You Know?
Al Pacino turned down the role of John Milton several times before finally accepting. The film explores themes of temptation, morality, and free will. To prepare for his role as a lawyer, Keanu Reeves spent time with defense attorneys in New York. The spectacular penthouse apartment of John Milton was actually filmed on several different sets and locations, including Donald Trump's real-life penthouse in Trump Tower for some exterior shots and views.
